Pressure System Safety Regulations (PSSR) Check
A PSSR (Pressure System Safety Regulations) check is a safety inspection for coffee machines that use pressurised steam. PSSR checks are required annually for commercial coffee machines.
What does a PSSR check include?
- Checking safety devices: Operation of safety valves, pressure relief valves, and temperature cut-outs.
- Reviewing the Written Scheme of Examination (WSE): Ensuring it’s up-to-date and inspections are carried out as planned.
- Checking the pressure switch: Ensuring accurate pressure readings.
- Checking the level probe: Ensuring safe water levels.
- Checking associated pipework and fittings: For leaks, corrosion, and damage.
Why are PSSR checks important?
